Why I Made This Presentation Timer
I've watched too many conference talks run over time - including my own. The problem isn't that speakers don't care about time. It's that checking a tiny clock in the corner of your screen breaks your flow.
Traffic lights fix this. Green means keep going. Yellow means start wrapping up. Red means finish your sentence. You can see the color from across the room without losing your train of thought. I wish every conference had these.
Traffic Light Phases
Green (50%+ remaining)
You have plenty of time. Continue at your normal pace.
Yellow (25-50% remaining)
You're past halfway. Start thinking about your conclusion.
Red (<25% remaining)
Time to wrap up. Finish your final points and conclude.
